Australian Carbon Credits (ACCUs)
Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) are the official carbon credits issued by the Australian Government through the Clean Energy Regulator. Each ACCU represents one tonne of carbon dioxide (CO₂) that has been either avoided or removed from the atmosphere through approved environmental projects, such as land regeneration, methane capture, or energy efficiency improvements. ACCUs are a regulated and trusted instrument used by companies to meet emissions obligations and achieve net-zero targets.
